Saying goodbye to long-serving volunteer

We have to say goodbye to Carol Lukins, or Carol Lukins MBE as she is also known! Carol is one of our longest serving volunteers, having been with ACT for 20 years.

Originally an Appropriate Adult (AA), before the days of the Police Investigation Centres, Carol specialised in being an AA for the Department of Work and Pensions Fraud interviews, and other non PIC related AA work.

Carol was awarded her MBE for her services to volunteering – specifically for services to ‘HM Coastguard and The Prison Service’.   She was a volunteer coastguard for 21 years and is still a member of a prison Independent Monitoring Board – along with Colin, our previous Chair.

Carol is leaving sunny Suffolk to start a new adventure in life in the West Country – good luck Carol and thank you so much for all you have done for us over the years, you will be missed.
