New COVID-19 Extraordinary Funding
We are delighted to have received over £18.5k in funding towards additional Covid-19 related infrastructure costs and for our Money Advice Service to deliver financial and debt advice and support to victims of domestic abuse. Much needed during this difficult time, we have previously reported that we’re anticipating a rise in referrals for support now that lockdown restrictions are easing and sufferers may have easier access to services.
ACT is one of 13 charities across Suffolk to benefit – Suffolk’s Police and Crime Commissioner Tim Passmore secured funding of over £200k from the Ministry of Justice’s COVID-19 Extraordinary Fund to support organisations financially disadvantaged by the pandemic. Suffolk’s PCC said:
“I am really delighted the MoJ has recognised the vital work done by the voluntary and charitable sector in Suffolk and the increased pressure these organisations face because of Covid-19. The extra funding will make such a difference to the victims of these terrible crimes and help them overcome their traumatic experiences”
