ACTober – helping families in need

For the whole month of October, we’ll be collecting the following items and #donating them to our own service users and to Families in Need #FIND:

  • #Coats – longer length, dark colours, preferably with hoods and should be waterproof
  • #Hats, gloves and scarves – must be lined, warm and preferably dark colours
  • #Clothing – comfortable trousers for example; tracksuit bottoms are both warm and practical
  • #Towels – large and with plenty of life left in them
  • #Toiletries – shower gel, deodorant, shampoo, female sanitary products, toothpaste
  • #Food – non-perishable and with a reasonable shelf life

We’ve sited bins around #Ipswich town centre and are very grateful to the following #localbusinesses that have been generous in becoming #drop-off points for donations:

  • #Cake&Catwalk, 15 St Peters Street
  • #RockafellaIndustries at Kaleidoscope Eye, 8 Eagle Street
  • #LadyNorfolk&LordRust, 30 Queen St
  • #Ipswich Town Hall, Cornhill
  • #Archant – the home of #IpswichStar and #EastAnglianDailyTimes, 120 Princes St
  • #StokeBridgeWorkshops, 9 Stoke Street

Alongside our collection of supplies, we’ll also be taking part in the #WorldHomelessDay event happening on Ipswich #Cornhill on 10th October. We’ll be available, alongside other charities such as #IHAG, #Emmaus and #IpswichCommunityMedia, to give information on the way that we’re all working together to tackle #homelessness – #IpswichSoupKitchen will also be taking part in the event.

So, if you’re able to provide any of these much-needed supplies, please visit one of our drop-off points around town – we know that those who receive items will be very grateful. If you’d like to visit us all On the Cornhill on 10th October too, we can also talk to you about ways in which you can help by #volunteering.

Thanks in advance for all of your help and support
